Learners who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance. Upon verified competence with the ETDP SETA, learners will receive a Certificate of Competence and a ETDP SETA statement of results.

About the course

Those who achieve this unit standard will be able to conduct assessments within their field of expertise.

They will be able to carry out assessments in a fair, calid, reliable, and practicable manner that is free of all bias, discrimination, paying particular attention to the three groups targeted for redress: race, gender, and disability.

People credited with this unit standard will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of outcomes-based assessment
  • Prepare for assessments
  • Conduct assessments
  • Provide feedback on assessments; and
  • Review assessments

Who should attend?

This generic assessor unit standard is for those who assess people for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments.

Entry requirements

It is assumed that learners have expertise in the subject/occupation field in which they intend to assess, and are competent at:

  • Communication at NQF level 4
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 4
